Ava Parker is a fashion designer based in the greater Philadelphia area whose work explores the relationship between storytelling, historical reference, and contemporary tailoring. Her practice combines concept development with technical garment construction, using fashion as a medium to examine themes of identity, performance, power, and transformation.
Drawing inspiration from history, theater, and social commentary, Ava’s work reinterprets traditional silhouettes through a modern lens. Her collections investigate the role of clothing within systems of culture and resistance, balancing structure with emotion and narrative-driven design.
Ava approaches design as both a collaborative and investigative process, valuing experimentation, craftsmanship, and problem-solving throughout development. Her portfolio reflects an interest in conceptual storytelling alongside precise construction and textile manipulation.
She recently completed her senior thesis collection, Field Grey, at The Savannah College of Art and Design. The collection examines the suppression and resilience of artists under authoritarian systems through militaristic tailoring, theatrical references, and monochromatic textile work.
